After the students of the middle school art lab. watched the following documentary www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj0XRAIo32w on Keith Haring, they worked on their own individual art works, inspired by Keith Haring's subway drawings.
T-shirt Designer
Taking on the role of a t-shirt designer— “Keith Haring Style”
The lesson's goal was for students to pretend that they were “reopening” the Pop Shop in NYC that closed in 2005. They were given the challenge to design and showcase new and improved t-shirts that were marketable to sell. They could use any surface application such as dyeing, bleaching, and fabric paint to accomplish the task and it had to be wearable!
Keith Haring Semiotics Poster
This lesson introduces students to the work of Keith Haring, focusing on his semiotic messages. Students have to create their own semiotic symbols to communicate a positive message that is important in their lives.
Haring Inspired Mural
"Action Painting" day camp participants (kids between 11-14 yrs) painted a Haring inspired mural on the wall of the village's railway station underpass, transforming an ugly gray concrete wall into a colourful piece of energetic art. The 3-day day camp ran for 5 hours per day, with 4 dedicated to art.

Environmentally Friendly Fence
We loved learning about Keith Haring.
Room 8 and 9 painted the fence outside our classrooms using Keith Haring images. We wrote environmentally friendly messages inside our shapes as part of our environmental project this year. Our yearly calendars were also based around Keith Haring.
Neighborhood Mini-Mural
I am a fan of Haring Kids website and enjoy sharing it with people I know and children that I share my love of art with. This week, I taught some of my neighborhood kids (ages 4-11) about Keith Haring and his art. Each child created their own Haring inspired art work to take home with them.
Big Draw Day
As part of The Big Draw, a day of artist-lead drawing projects at Ivydale School in South London, illustrator Garry Parsons lead the Year 5 group in transforming the school reception area into Keith's POP SHOP, complete with house music and Haringesque badges to give away.
WE LOVE KEITH HARING!
